Neoprene chest waders are just like traditional
chest waders, but they’re made from a synthetic rubber called neoprene or polychloroprene. Neoprene
chest waders are used for different purposes.
Leisurely, neoprene chest waders are used for
hunting in wet environments, fishing, playing with remotely controlled boats or model boats and
while driving off road vehicles through different wet terrains.
Heavy-duty neoprene chest waders are also used for
various industrial purposes, like cleaning and maintaining a sewage system and/or water supply
system. They are also used in agricultural and chemical industries.
Neoprene chest waders are ideal when going for late fall fly
fishing and duck hunting as they are not only waterproof but are best suited to keep you warm in cold water. The
thickness of both men's and women's neoprene chest waders typically varies from 3mm to 5mm.
While 3mm is used for general purposes or fishing in moderate
temperatures, 5mm thick neoprene chest waders are used for angling or waterfowl hunting in winters.
Types of Neoprene Waders
Neoprene chest waders with either a) boots attached, or b)
stocking feet attached are available in the market.
Neoprene chest waders with boots are waders where the boots are
constructed into the waders. The main benefit of this type of chest waders is that you don’t need to buy separate
pair of wading boots, and these are easy to put on and take off.
Boots attached with this type of neoprene chest wader come with
either rubber soles, which provide better grip while walking on muddy bottoms, or with felt soles that are good for
walking on slippery rocks on the bottom of a river.
Neoprene waders with stocking feet have booties
instead of the boots in the foot section. They are designed to insulate the foot and allow you to wear wading boots
of your choice. Different types of wading boots from simple to highly sophisticated are available in the
market.
The stocking foot waders together with wading boots are light in
weight when compared with boot waders. You can choose wading boots according to the conditions you’ll be
experiencing, as they are available with not only rubber and felt soles but also with metal studs. Wading shoes
with interchangeable soles are also available.
